Gospels Part 1: Becoming A Disciple Of Jesus

The gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, are the account of Jesus’ life and are unlike any other portion of the Bible. Here we get to watch Jesus, listen to Jesus’ words, and learn to act like Jesus. Everything in the whole Bible points to this Man, what He did, and how He gave us the perfect example of true discipleship. So, let’s spend some time with the Man Himself.

We’ll start this study by getting an idea of what we want to get out of the gospels about becoming a disciple of Jesus. We will be looking to answer 3 guiding questions throughout:

  1. Jesus: Who is He so that I may know Him better? So that I may be like Him?

  2. The Gospel: What is the message of good news that has changed me? What is the message with which I “go and make disciples”?

  3. Discipleship: What is it? How did Jesus do it? And how can I do it?
