Nehemiah: Repair, Fortify, Restore

Israel had a problem. She was returning from exile, but she was vulnerable. She had no walls to protect her. Often, aren't we like that? We desire to live strong lives of Faith, but we find ourselves susceptible to attack and inevitably the attacks do come! They come from enemies, from within and without, from ignorance and sin, from a lack of obedience or diligence. Sometimes the opposition that we face can feel overwhelming.

But God does not desire to leave us defenseless. Here in Nehemiah, we can watch as God uses one of His servants to coach Israel in how to face opposition as well as teach us how to build walls of protection to rebuild, repair, and restore our faith.
