James: Faith and Action
Faith seems to be quite the imaginary concept, yet if you’re a believer, it drives the reaction to all circumstances of life. Maybe you’ve heard some of these phrases before: You know, it is Faith that moves the mountains of life. Just have a little more Faith - it’ll all work out. Oh ye of little Faith!
On and on, and yet, do we even know what it means to have real Faith? Faith that is true, that is evident not only to ourselves, but to those around us?
James, the brother of Jesus, lived long ago, but he left us with a guide to understand Faith in this epistle with the same name. He communicated in his letter that Faith isn’t just an internal idea, but a concrete, visible state of mind that is evidenced by what we choose to do with our lives.
Faith leads to Action.
Join us in this six week study of the book of James, and we will learn:
How Faith leads to Action.
The difference between being a hearer of the Word instead of a doer of the Word.
That God gifts us with the law of liberty and freedom.
How fleeting the world’s wisdom is compared to the wisdom from above.
What it looks like to accept and heed Godly correction.
How to help rescue those who are moving away from God.
This book is designed to help you engage with God through His Word, as well as connect and grow within a community. Each of the six lessons comes equipped with discussion/discipleship questions for you to use personally, in a discipleship relationship, or within a group.
